What Is This All About?
How Daniel and Thomas crossed paths and how these conversations known as Chats About God came to be. Began decades ago when Dan said, “God I want to know you.” He then left the church just like followers of Jesus left the synagogue back in the day.
What is the Bible a representation of? The Old Covenant. What is Dualism. Right and wrong: good and bad. Let’s discuss the Old and New Covenant, which is NOT the Old and New Testament. If you want to know God you have to understand He doesn’t think the way we think.
Definition of God. God is love. We see things and think “well that’s obviously not love!” from our perspective. “If I was in charge, I wouldn’t have done THAT!” What happened and died on the cross (much more than simply Jesus).
What does dying to self mean? It’s not behavioral. If there’s no you, no me, no self, there’s only God. There’s nothing else. God saved all before the world began. Stuff happens that God wants us to feel. We can’t see or understand His purpose, we have to simply trust Him in each of these things.
This can be hard to hear. Shakes your ideology, theology, and identity. Why Jesus asked often, “Can you hear?” Hard to hear a god when we’re so sure we’re right in defending the ideologies and theologies we’ve been taught since birth.
All that came from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. We have a belief system of right and wrong, good and bad. Religion is just a byproduct of mans belief system. If you went to get rid of religion you’ve got to get rid of man. Man fights over morality of who’s right and who’s wrong. Who’s belief system is superior?
The Bible is a representation of the old covenant age. From the trees in the garden to Moses, up to the cross is all the old covenant. Talking to the Jewish people at that time. Jews kept thinking we can do it all through laws. Jesus came and kept dumping more laws on them (making up new ones). Every time the Jewish Pharisees kept saying they could do it, Jesus kept making up new laws. A law is a law. If it’s in the you ought to do this and ought not do this, that’s a law. He kept giving new laws until the essence was, you’re going to have to be perfect. Think you can do that? You can’t!
The New Testament church didn’t get it. They still talk about unrighteousness, behavior, sin, the enemy (satan or the devil) and hell. And don’t ever introduce the finished works of Jesus or The New Covenant.
The Bible is man saying I can do it, and God saying no you can’t. I know you want to do it. Know you’re trying to do it. But I’ve done it for you.
This New Covenant and the finished works of Jesus Christ is the greatest gift that relieves you of judgement, unrighteousness, heavy burden, anxiety, depression, fear, doubt, and more. Yet most who know the Bible inside and out and who’ve been in the church for their entire lives, even the preachers on the pulpit, don’t know about or speak about or receive this gift from God.
Their still focused on behavior, believing in self versus believing in the true power source of God and believing in the finished works of Jesus.
Jesus came to abolish death and bring forth life.
We’ve got it all. We’re not lacking anything.
We’re talking about coming to know God not coming to know a program, not seeking to become a better Christian, person or whatever that program is called.
Most religions or programs you’re brings more guilt, not peace and rest, that comes in trusting the God and His New Covenant with all. There are none excluded.
Believe in God not your works with the ideal of making yourself worthy.
Takes you from going through life trying to make it happen, to trusting in God who created all of this finished work before man (you and I) showed up. Thank you God for taking care of this. From my perspective it may look off, or not good at times, yet I trust in You for it all.
I want to know God and let him take over governing my life. Plug into the original source.
When I get that trust in God all this going on around me will make sense.
Most are trying to know God through a world system: study, resumes, etc.
Hebrews 8:10-12 New International Version (NIV)
10 This is the covenant I will establish with the people of Israel after that time, declares the Lord.I will put my laws in their minds and write them on their hearts.I will be their God, and they will be my people.11 No longer will they teach their neighbor, or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’because they will all know me, from the least of them to the greatest.12 For I will forgive their wickedness and will remember their sins no more.”
Jeremiah 31:31-34 New International Version (NIV)
31 “The days are coming,” declares the Lord,
“when I will make a new covenant
with the people of Israel
and with the people of Judah.
32 It will not be like the covenant
I made with their ancestors
when I took them by the hand
to lead them out of Egypt,
because they broke my covenant,
though I was a husband to[a] them,[b]”
declares the Lord.
33 “This is the covenant I will make with the people of Israel
after that time,” declares the Lord.
“I will put my law in their minds
and write it on their hearts.
I will be their God,
and they will be my people.
34 No longer will they teach their neighbor,
or say to one another, ‘Know the Lord,’
because they will all know me,
from the least of them to the greatest,”
declares the Lord.
“For I will forgive their wickedness
and will remember their sins no more.”
This isn’t man choosing God or Jesus. This is God and Jesus choosing ALL of humanity.
This is how much God loved you, that He brought forth his son Jesus in the flesh to show you. He did all of this before the world began.
He did this for His purpose and His grace.
God’s purpose is different from mans purpose as His grace is different from mans grace.
Man gives conditional grace. God has limitless grace.
What could you do that would be unforgivable by God?
Answer: absolutely nothing is unforgivable by God.
Those who receive God’s grace are not in am exclusive club. It’s an all inclusive club. “Yes, even that guy or gal, who did (insert any atrocity, behavior, or actions man would label as bad).”
This is hard for man to comprehend or accept.
Fortunately God doesn’t see or judge like man. His grace covers all.
There is no opposing power to God. God is all.
Everything is coming from God and from love whether we see it that way or not from our limited perspective.
It all has nothing to do with us and everything to do with Him and what He did before the world began. Then he manifested it through Jesus so we could see it all the way to the cross.
But it was and still is a very large thing (gift) to hear, see, accept, and receive. They missed it after the cross and very few to this day have ears that can hear it today.
How about you? Can you hear?
Once you hear, see, accept this unbelievable gift from God it’s a renewing of the mind.
You’re going to be one with God, being fully in each present moment, doing the will of God as it flows through hour heart and you.
Who’s the God in the God relationship, you or Him? Who’s driving whom?
What about choices? It’s all God. Follow the intuition from God through your heart.
“Well that shouldn’t have happened!”
Man is always trying to tell God what he can and can’t do.
The only reason we are here is to know God.
Would you rather be in your will or God’s will all day long?
Get over yourself, and find the God within you. You’ll find peace and rest, plus untold joy.
Surrender your will to God’s will. Guess what? It sounds easy, but even Jesus knowing He was heading to the cross shortly, asked God to “take this cup away from Me.”
Matthew 26:42He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for thiscup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
Even Jesus said I of my own will can do nothing except the will of My Father.
John 5:19 Jesus gave them this answer: “Very truly I tell you, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.
John 5:30 New International Version (NIV)
30 By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
We think we’re choosing Jesus when God chose us (before the world began).
We think we’re making a relationship with God. It’s not our relationship, it’s His. Nothing we can do will break that relationship.
No matter what you have done, God loves you and has forgiven you. Yes you! Yes me. Yes, even that person who did you really wrong. ALL of us!
Praise God! Thank you God!
If you’re a parent, think of your children. What could they do that would have you not love them? Yes, they can and will make some choices you disagree with, and yes that may cause them, others, and you severe harm, but you’ll still love them. That’s what we are capable of. God is limitless love and forgiveness.
Give your kids over to God. They’re already His. Big relief. They’re not yours. You’re not raising them. Trust in God for and with them, too.
Believe in the thing you can’t see. Surrender to God and His will. See Him in all. Go to Him with all. Talk with God throughout the day.
God’s grace keeps getting bigger. We keep getting smaller.
Walk around with thankfulness and gratitude even and especially in difficult times.
“Hey God! I’m not sure what you’re doing with this. Thank you for it and for figuring it out! Kind of has me stumped, but I trust You!”
